The Jeffress Scholarship Trust provides scholarships for the training of equestrian coaches already established in the industry, with a client base, to advance their teaching expertise.

The Trust was set up in memory of Albert Godfrey Jeffress who was a founder member and much respected proprietor of the ABRS. After many years of running a prestigious riding school in England, as well as serving as ABRS Treasurer, he moved to Spain, where again he set up a riding school.

The JEFFRESS SCHOLARSHIP TRUST is a public, independent charity.

The Trust consists of Trustees, (all unpaid volunteers), an Executive Officer and specially appointed Assessors.  They ensure that a good standard of applicants, with dedication and ambition, receive scholarships.

Nationally recognised trainers collaborate with the Trust. Their collaboration is based on the following criteria:

  • Ability to provide suitable training and facilities
  • Dedication to working for excellence
  • Dedication to producing students who will give back something to the equestrian industry

The trainers are paid directly by the Trust, as training progresses. Expenses incurred by the scholarship holder are refunded in full.
